Cooking time

Kids cooking classes build practical life skills, self-confidence, and independence.

Our practical, interactive, and fun cooking classes aim at cognitive, social-emotional, and physical skills, with children learning about food, healthy eating habits, and culture in a safe and empowering environment.

Explore, create, learn!

Cooking classes at Active Brain Kids Academy are the perfect place for your sprouting chef to develop, build upon, and sharpen their culinary skills. Our innovative class curriculum immerses students in a world of creativity and discovery. Planned around a unique theme or concept, each class is a new learning adventure and a fantastic, new opportunity for kids to expand their knowledge, abilities, and independence.

Awaken your child’s senses and unlock their learning potential

Children are “hands-on” learners. They learn by exploring and manipulating objects in their environment using the five senses: seeing, touching, tasting, smelling, and hearing. This wide range of learning styles gives many opportunities for education in the kitchen, which is why at Active Brain Kids Academy we introduce our students to cooking as early as possible!

From 6 to 8 years - Thursdays, from 4:15 to 5:15 pm

Keep your child learning outside of the classroom

Activities related to cooking are the perfect resource for kids to expand their knowledge in a fun and playful way, without external pressure and school-induced stress. Our cooking classes create learning opportunities for students to experience that academic skills go beyond the classroom walls. From reading recipes and preparing food to experimenting with various textures, flavors, and shapes, our children learn important life lessons and develop fundamental abilities that can be transferred across different contexts:

Language (vocabulary, reading, comprehension)
Math (counting, measuring, fractions)
Science (liquids/solids, blending, mixing)
History & Geography (origin and use of ingredients in different cultures)

Help your child develop positive attitudes toward healthy foods

Getting children involved in the kitchen can help them build long-lasting healthy habits early on. At Active Brain Kids Academy, we educate and empower students to make smart food choices through hands-on learning with fresh, colorful, and delicious ingredients. With each new lesson, children develop a strong knowledge base about different foods, their origin, benefits, and nutritive value, while also growing a positive attitude toward healthy eating.

Equip your child with skills for a happy and successful life

Trying out new recipes with kids is a great way to have fun, but did you know that cooking is actually good for their minds? New research has revealed that cooking stimulates and exercises different parts of the brain, helping children improve their cognitive, social-emotional, and physical abilities without even realizing it. In our cooking classes, students not only learn new culinary techniques but also actively work on essential life skills including:

Focus and memory
Problem-solving skills
Logical and creative thinking
Fine motor skills and coordination
Teamwork and collaboration
Independence and self-reliance
Self-confidence and self-esteem

You choose the number of classes your child will attend

Meet our teacher

Hello! My name is Jane. I am currently finishing up my studies in children’s rights. I’m a firm believer that learning can be fun and playful. That is why I try to create a fun and playful environment in my class. I use games, art and activities to teach my students. To me, learning English was a doorway which lead me on a wonderful journey, one which I am still exploring. I hope that my time with my students will take them to a doorway of their own, so they can find their own adventures!
