Sometimes the parents’ concerns are much greater than worrying about whether the child acquired and learned the lesson material. There’s definitely more to it. It’s also relevant how the child fits into the school environment and whether he uses his cognitive capacities. Besides that, the problem might be that the school tasks are too challenging, and the stress can be overwhelming. A real relief for parents can come in the form of solutions that are not instant but offer far-reaching results – such as programs that focus on key issues and help children use their resources, potentials and skills.
What is neurolinguistic programming?
We believe that by now you have come across the concept of neuro-linguistic programming as a model of communication that uses different methods and techniques in achieving their set goals. NLP studies the ways in which successful people use their resources, their potentials and patterns of behavior. Applying these models, gives people the opportunity to set goals, enables them to make key decisions and introduce the necessary changes in life.
The application of NLP gives especially good results in education and work with children. At the age when they are willing to learn, ready for changes and do not have empirically formed beliefs, children adopt NLP techniques more easily and thus it encourages the development of self-confidence, the development of motivation and emotional intelligence.
NLP in education programs for children
Through various games, practical exercises, stories, exchange of experiences and within a community that provides full support, children overcome their fears, get over mental blocks and learn new patterns of behavior, acquire successful learning skills, unleash their creativity and discover their talents.
The simplest example of the application of the NLP model is the redirection of attention from a negative point of view which prevents action and progress to an aspect from which it is possible to achieve a certain change. In particular, it looked like this:
Instead of saying | A child learns to say |
Sorry I’m always late | Thank you for waiting for me |
Sorry I talk a lot | Thank you for always listening to me |
Sorry I keep asking for help | Thank you for helping me |
So, instead of looking at the negative, which encourages them to feel bad, and does not stimulate change, children learn to shift their focus to positive things, remind themselves of what is important, of the good things they already have and so they give themselves the opportunity to adapt themselves to the next situation.
This approach is much clearer for children and helps them focus on the right values, more easily recognize what is better, find solutions and face problems. Also, by applying NLP, children overcome problems with self-confidence, anxiety, stress and emotions, and it has a positive effect on:
- concentration
- developing a sense of responsibility
- directing attention
- better communication with peers and adults
- development of individuality
- positive thinking
During their childhood, children are in a constant process of learning and development, they face new situations, choices and obstacles every day. In order to successfully overcome various challenges, it is necessary to give them useful mechanisms, know their sensibility and provide adequate support accordingly.
How is NLP used in the BrainOBrain program?
The core of the BrainOBrain program are these ideas, which help each child find their voice, express themselves freely and learn to use all their natural potential within small groups. This way, the application of the neuro-linguistic programming model plays a crucial role, and makes the program very successful.
Now you have the opportunity to present this unique learning and play experience to your child at the Active Brain Kids Academy in Geneva, to see the effectiveness of NLP using the full intellectual potential at the most delicate age of your child.
Sign up for a free individual lesson and get to know the environment in which we work, learn all about the program and give your child the opportunity to learn, create and play freely.
